A good multi-purpose warmup before a Home Workout for Busy People

Before any workout, it’s good to spend 5 to 10 minutes doing a general warmup. If you have a general warmup you enjoy already then stick with that but if you’re looking for some ideas then we have some suggestions below. As you become more familiar with what your body needs you can add to, subtract from or modify this warmup.

Walk on the spot with moderate knee lifts and pumping the arms for 30 paces each side.

Move your arms in circles, starting at your side, moving them over your head and then back to starting position. Do 10 revolutions forward and 10 backwards.

Scap Push Ups

Do 10 scap push ups, taking your time.

Band Pull Aparts

Do 10 of these.

You don’t need a very strong fitness band for this, it’s simply a warmup in this context, a good, affordable option is the smallest of the RitFit bands here.

Lateral Band Walks

Do 10 of these for each leg, simply alternating legs.

Bird Dogs

Do 5 of these for each side.

Cat/Camel

Do 10 repetitions. Remember not to exaggerate the position at the bottom or the top, this is very important, just go to a point that gives a comfortable stretch.

One Legged Bridges

Do 10 each side.

Walk on the spot with moderate knee lifts and pumping the arms for 30 paces each side.
